Job summary

Barclays Bank UK PLC in Glasgow is seeking a Credit Risk Associate Analyst to manage and optimise the bank's credit risk exposure. You will monitor, analyse, and report on the creditworthiness of the lending portfolio, covering borrowers, sectors, and regions, and you will develop models and tools to measure potential losses.

The role requires SAS/SQL experience, data literacy, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Qualifications

  • Experience using SAS or a similar coding environment / language, such as R and Python, beginner level of coding.
  • Good data literacy and ability to interpret MI reports as a means to contextualise findings.
  • Stakeholder management skills and strong communication skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Excel, intermediate ability is necessary.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
  • Ability to plan and schedule workload according to deadlines.

Job Description Purpose of the role

To manage and optimise the bank's overall credit risk exposure by monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the creditworthiness of its lending portfolio.

Accountabilities

Monitoring the financial performance and risk profile of the entire lending portfolio, including individual borrowers, sectors, and geographic regions.

Analysis of credit trends, identify early warning signs of potential borrowers' issues, and assess the impact of economic and market developments on the portfolio.

Development and utilisation of quantitative models and risk forecasting tools to measure and predict potential credit losses.

Performance of portfolio stress testing exercises to assess the impact of various economic and market scenarios on the portfolio's risk profile.

Definition and setting of portfolio, segment and customer risk appetite, policy and limits.

Overseeing first line execution within these parameters.

To be successful as a Credit Risk Associate Analyst, you should have the following essential skills.
