Job summary

Centrica is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to protect and enable one of Europe’s leading energy trading businesses. You’ll work with Trading, Risk, Quantitative Analytics, Finance and Legal to shape credit strategy and assess complex transactions.

This role combines credit analysis with exposure to risk modelling, data-driven decision making, and automation initiatives across a global trading organisation, with hybrid working from London and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Credit Risk within commodity or energy trading.
• Knowledge of energy and commodity markets including power and gas.
• Strong understanding of counterparty credit assessment and risk management principles.
• Familiarity with trading agreements, collateral arrangements and risk mitigation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed financial and counterparty assessments across a trading portfolio.
• Maintain and monitor counterparty credit ratings, limits and risk appetite.
• Monitor current and forward credit exposures across traded products and transactions.
• Provide timely credit risk analysis and recommendations to support commercial decisions.
• Review transaction structures and identify appropriate risk mitigation measures.
• Advise on collateral requirements and contribute to credit provisions in trading agreements.
