Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Credit Manager to lead our Accounts Receivable ledger and credit control team across the Nationals, Digraph, L&M, and Export business channels. This role is pivotal in maximising cash flow, managing financial risk, and ensuring strict compliance with all credit and risk policies.

As a key leader, you will drive team performance, oversee stakeholder relationships, and implement efficient processes to support financial health across the business. You will also be responsible for performance management, career development, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

This role reports into senior leadership and involves close collaboration with internal colleagues, external partners, and auditors across the UK and European framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all processes and transactions within Accounts Receivable and other ledger areas as required.
  • Oversee and continuously review risk controls impacting Trade Working Capital.
  • Drive cash collection performance, aiming for minimal overdues and zero bad debt.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing credit control team through regular 1-2-1s, feedback, and career planning.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all transactional, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end tasks.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of key metrics, dashboards, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with LKQI, internal finance teams, and commercial partners to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and go-to person for credit and AR-related matters.
  • Partner with business leaders to resolve issues and implement long-term sustainable solutions.
  • Maintain and update departmental SOPs, policies, and procedures.
  • Engage with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with all audit requirements.
  • Champion a continuous improvement culture, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

  • Proven finance leadership experience.
  • Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) desirable.
  • Strong expertise in 3rd party collection/allocation software or similar financial systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Macros).

  • Experienced in balance sheet, P&L, and end-to-end finance processes.
