Job Title: Credit Manager

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000

Location: Birmingham

Type: Permanent, Full Time (Hybrid)

About the Role

Marks Sattin are working with a prestigious professional services business in Birmingham, who are looking for an experienced Credit Manager to join their team. The Credit Manager will play a key part in leading the credit control team, overseeing collection of debts, minimising financial risk, and aligning credit strategies with broader business objectives.

Main Responsibilities
  • Leading, managing and developing the credit control team.
  • Recommending and implementing credit control policies and procedures in line with firm standards and legal regulations.
  • Overseeing the assessment and analysis of client credit, setting appropriate credit limits.
  • Monitoring aged debt and bad debt provision, ensuring proactive resolution of overdue accounts.
  • Overseeing monthly and quarterly cash collection targets.
  • Liaising with external debt recovery agencies when necessary and advise on recovery strategies.
  • Providing regular reporting to the CFO on cash collection performance, risks, and recovery progress.
Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in credit management within a professional services environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead and influence.
  • Professional qualification in credit management or finance (e.g. CICM) is desirable.
  • Ability to balance commercial awareness with risk mitigation.
