Job summary

Travel Counsellors is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our Head Office team. You will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, drive cash collection, and protect revenue by resolving disputes and minimising risk.

Working independently, you will use your expertise in Excel and ERP systems to monitor trends, report to management, and contribute to process improvements while supporting a flexible hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience in a dedicated Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role.
• Experience independently managing a customer ledger.
• Proven experience collecting overdue debt by telephone and email.
• Experience resolving disputed invoices.
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and take ownership of all collection activity.
• Contact customers by telephone and email to recover outstanding balances.
• Achieve cash collection and debt reduction targets.
• Investigate overdue balances and resolve payment delays.
• Maintain accurate collection notes and records in systems.
• Escalate high-risk accounts per procedures.
• Recommend accounts for legal recovery when appropriate.
• Investigate and resolve invoice disputes.
• Build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor payment behaviour and identify risks.
• Review credit exposure and adjust limits where needed.
• Produce reports and support decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and support automation.
