Job summary

Reed Accountancy are delighted to be working with a global market leader based in Glasgow to recruit a Credit Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role focuses on reducing aged debt and supporting cash flow while resolving account queries.

You will build strong relationships with clients, chase payments, perform cash reconciliations and contribute to monthly reporting. The ideal candidate has prior credit control experience and strong Excel/ERP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar finance function.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confidence communicating by email and telephone.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using ERP systems or finance software.

Responsibilities

• Chasing outstanding debt and supporting the timely collection of payments.
• Managing customer account queries and payment disputes through to resolution.
• Allocating incoming cash accurately across customer accounts.
• Carrying out account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Assisting with cash flow forecasting activities.
• Processing customer returns and account adjustments.
• Producing regular client and management reports.
• Supporting the management of held or blocked customer orders.
• Setting up new customer accounts and maintaining accurate account records.
• Providing support during internal and external audit processes.
• Processing and reconciling credit card transactions.
