Job summary

Venatu Recruitment Group are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Credit Controller to join their close-knit and supportive team based in the HU15 area. This is an excellent opportunity for a Credit Controller looking for part-time hours and a role where you can play an important part in the day-to-day financial operations of an established business.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar finance role.
• Experience dealing with customer accounts and outstanding payments.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Good organisational skills and ability to multitask.
• Confidence communicating with customers by phone and in writing.
• Proactive and positive approach to work.
• Ability to work independently while also being part of a close-knit team.
• Good IT and administration skills.

Responsibilities

• Chase outstanding payments and manage credit control activities.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
• Communicate with customers regarding account queries and overdue payments.
• Maintain and update debtor schedules.
• Produce letters and customer correspondence.
• Carry out weekly statement runs and daily banking duties (cheques, BACS).
• Complete bank reconciliations and manage petty cash.
• Check and process credit notes and approvals.
• Keep financial records and customer accounts accurate and up to date.
• Support the wider finance team with general administration.

The successful Credit Controller will be responsible for a range of finance and administration duties, with a particular focus on maintaining customer accounts, managing outstanding payments and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.

The Role - Credit Controller

As a Credit Controller, your duties will include:

• Managing credit control activities and chasing outstanding payments.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers.
• Speaking directly with customers regarding account queries and overdue payments.
• Maintaining and updating debtor schedules.
• Producing and sending letters and customer correspondence.
• Completing weekly statement runs.
• Carrying out daily banking duties, including processing cheques and BACS payments.
• Completing bank reconciliations accurately.
• Managing petty cash.
• Checking and processing credit notes and approvals.
• Ensuring financial records and customer accounts are kept accurate and up to date.
• Supporting the wider finance team with general administration when required.

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this Credit Controller position, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a Credit Controller or within a similar finance or accounts role.
• Experience dealing with customer accounts and outstanding payments.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Confidence communicating with customers both over the phone and in writing.
• A proactive and positive approach to work.
• Ability to work independently while also being part of a close-knit team.
