Job summary

Bannatyne in Leeds is seeking a Creche Assistant to join Club B. This 18-hour-per-week role pays £12.71 per hour and supports a safe, engaging environment for children while parents use our gym and spa facilities.

You will create a warm welcome, greet families, plan age-appropriate activities, supervise play, ensure safety, and keep the creche clean and well‑organised for the next session.

Qualifications

• Must have Early Years Level 2 or equivalent.
• Experience working with children in childcare or similar setting.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with parents and engage children.
• Committed to maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
• Enthusiastic and passionate about working with children.
• Reliable, responsible and attentive to detail.
• Ability to stay calm and patient in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

A typical day in the life of a Creche Assistant

• Create a warm, inclusive, and inviting atmosphere for children and their families.
• Greet parents and children in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive start to their creche experience.
• Plan and deliver a variety of activities tailored to different age groups, ranging from creative arts to physical play.
• Encourage children’s engagement, creativity, and physical development through structured and free play.
• Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and wellbeing in accordance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Use the Club B facilities to provide a fun and secure environment for children.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the creche, ensuring all equipment and facilities are sanitised and ready for use.
• Set up and pack away activities, leaving the creche prepared for the next session.
• Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child’s experience and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Build trust and rapport with both parents and children to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience.

What we are looking for

• Be qualified in Early Years Level 2 or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience working with children in a childcare or similar setting.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with parents and engage children effectively.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
• Enthusiastic and passionate about working with children.

It would be desirable if you were qualified in Level 3 Early Years or an equivalent. It would also be advantageous if you had a Paediatric First Aid Certification.
