Job description

The Portal Arts Creative Steps project is seeking an energetic project assistant to join our team and help support people on their journey to better mental health.

The Portal Arts is a community arts and media charity based in the Govan area of Glasgow, UK. We deliver creative participation programmes and activity for the advancement of citizenship and community development. We provide creative recreational facilities and resources with the object of improving opportunities and conditions for people and families who reside in areas of multiple deprivations.

The Creative Steps programme delivers creative participation and peer support to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties and a lack of connection with their community. The effective three step programme focuses on building the strengths of participants so that they can progress from their place of treatment back into a community setting and onto wider opportunities in society.

The Project Assistant will support the Project Coordinator and class tutors by sourcing materials, contributing to creative projects such as group activities and window displays and having main responsibility for creating social media content and advertising our service.

Salary: £12.60/hour (Real Living Wage)

Hours: 21 hours per week over 3 days (to be decided)
