Description

The Role

We’re looking for a passionate and talented Creative Manager to join our brilliant Marketing team at Not On The High Street for a 6 month fixed‑term contract. The ideal candidate will be a confident leader of small creative teams and come from a hybrid Designer/Art Director background. You’ll be experienced in concepting big ideas for campaigns, producing content across a range of digital channels (including motion/video formats), art directing shoots and editorial content whilst executing engaging design ideas across the customer journey.

We’re open to candidates from both in‑house and agency environments, ideally you’ll have around 8 years+ of creative experience. We’re looking for a creative who loves retail, collaboration and innovation. You’ll also be passionate about managing people; guiding them with infectious creativity and helping to develop their skills and experience whilst also working with the wider team to instil creative ideas throughout our business.

Who you are
  • A hybrid visual creative skilled in both Art Direction and Design.
  • You’ll have a strong portfolio showcasing conceptual, design, and production work, ideally for retail brands.
  • You’re able to turn briefs into cohesive campaigns across multiple channels.
  • You can balance team leadership with hands‑on design and creation.
  • You’re passionate about digital‑first and mobile creativity; the majority of our customers shop on mobile so we’re looking for someone who is digital/social‑minded with pixel‑perfect execution.
  • Creative with solid production knowledge, collaborating closely with Producers for timely delivery.
  • An inspiring team leader focused on mentorship, growth, and collaboration.
  • A confident communicator who sells ideas and articulates strategic thinking.
  • Highly organised and detail‑oriented; skilled in managing workflow, budgets, and projects.
Accountabilities
  • Lead and inspire the Creative (Art Direction/Design) team, reporting to the Brand & Creative Director.
  • Develop the big creative campaign concepts each quarter with the Copy Manager and Brand & Creative Director to inspire our customers to shop with us and our amazing small brands.
  • Collaborate daily with the Copy team to design, animate, and execute campaigns across all channels (video, social, CRM, site, app, PR, print, experiential).
  • Oversee our shoots — plan visuals, art direct on set, and support production to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Support the Brand & Creative Director with departmental budget management.
  • Work closely with wider teams across the business including PR, Social, Paid Media, Retention, Commercial and Tech/Product to help launch campaigns, initiate trade‑driving ideas, spark engagement with our customers and encourage loyalty.
Some key skills and experience you’ll need...
Technical skills:
  • Exceptional creative technical skills; proficient in Figma, the Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro), Google Suite.
  • Technical understanding of shoot planning and onset art direction including shoot equipment, lighting, sound.
  • Experience of line management of small teams and passionate about people growth.
Human skills:
  • Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinker able to generate innovative ideas and are naturally positive.
  • Strategic thinker with problem‑solving skills.
  • Great team player, supportive and empathetic.
  • Thoughtful leadership, ability to influence up and down.
  • Naturally motivated to share creativity and brimming with ideas, always there to inspire those around them.
