Job summary

Holroyd Howe is seeking a skilled Sous Chef in Dorking to support daily kitchen operations and lead a team in delivering high-quality school catering. The role emphasizes fresh, seasonal menus, strict allergen controls, and collaborative menu planning with events support.

The successful candidate will bring Sous Chef or Chef de Partie experience in contract catering, preferably within independent education, with a proactive approach to safety and teamwork, and will join a dedicated school

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in contract catering.
• Experience in independent education or high-profile business catering preferred.
• Passionate about fresh, seasonal food and creative presentation.
• Strong attention to detail and food safety standards.
• Flexible and proactive; 5 out of 7 shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
• Motivate the team to deliver high standards of food and service
• Ensure food safety and allergen controls are consistently met
• Contribute to innovative menu planning
• Manage mise en place and ensure smooth, timely service
• Support events and functions alongside school life
• Accountability for following and championing allergen controls
