Job summary

Esher Sixth Form College's Fashion and Textiles Department is seeking a practical, organised Fashion and Textiles Technician to support students and staff. You will prepare materials and equipment, assist with sewing, painting and screen printing, and help keep workshops safe, tidy and inspiring.

This permanent, term-time role is 13 hours per week across Wednesday and Thursday, offering a rewarding chance to contribute to our Creative Arts team and help deliver hands-on lessons in a busy

  • Prepare materials, equipment and workspaces for practical Fashion and Textiles lessons
  • Support students with specialist techniques and equipment, including sewing, painting and screen printing
  • Organise, clean and maintain equipment, materials and creative workspaces
  • Help manage stock, resources and equipment, ensuring everything is ready for teaching and learning
  • Support department displays, exhibitions and College events
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the wider Creative Arts team to provide a safe, organised and inspiring environment

At Esher Sixth Form College, our Fashion and Textiles Department is a busy and creative environment, with around 110 students studying A Level Fashion and Textiles. We're looking for a practical, organised and hands-on Fashion and Textiles Technician to support our students and staff - preparing materials and equipment, supporting practical lessons and helping to keep our creative spaces organised, safe and inspiring. This is a permanent, term-time position, working 13 hours per week over Wednesday and Thursday, offering an excellent work-life balance and the opportunity to become an integral part of our Creative Arts team. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials, equipment and workspaces for practical Fashion and Textiles lessons
  • Support students with specialist techniques and equipment, including sewing, painting and screen printing
  • Organise, clean and maintain equipment, materials and creative workspaces
  • Help manage stock, resources and equipment, ensuring everything is ready for teaching and learning
  • Support department displays, exhibitions and College events
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the wider Creative Arts team to provide a safe, organised and inspiring environment
