Job summary

AMD in Cambridge, UK is seeking a highly skilled engineer to advance CPU microarchitecture performance through cycle-accurate simulators and workload analysis.

You will collaborate across hardware and software teams to define features and improve methodologies, with a Masters/PhD preferred and experience in pre-silicon analysis.

The Role:

As a member of the Core Performance Architecture Modelling team, you will contribute your expertise in CPU microarchitecture development, performance modelling, and analysis. This role offers opportunities to deepen technical contributions in CPU microarchitecture performance simulator development, workload and performance analysis, model correlation, and feature definition. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop expertise in cycle-accurate core microarchitecture performance simulator development, workload and trace analysis, microarchitecture development, and RTL-to-performance model correlation.
• Collaborate with a team of hardware and software engineers to develop innovative features that optimize CPU microarchitecture performance.
• Partner with design teams on broader architectural features and contribute to methodology improvements.

Preferred Experience:

Academic Credentials:

• Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
