Job summary

Nene Park Academy, part of Meridian Trust in Peterborough, is seeking a dependable cover supervisor to support teaching across departments during short-term absences. You will engage with pupils, deliver established tasks, and help maintain high standards of learning in a dynamic school environment.

The role requires a good educational background, strong communication, confidentiality awareness and reliable timekeeping within a term-time schedule. Training days are included.

Qualifications

• Good educational background with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience of subject background and working within the education sector.
• Knowledge of using different IT software such as Microsoft Office, Email.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students and parents.
• Positive and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work within a team as well as on own initiative.
• Knowledge of the need for confidentiality and awareness of child protection issues.
• Flexibility of working hours, committed and reliable with excellent timekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cover for short-term absences, engaging actively with the class to maintain standards.
• Assist across departments and roles within the Academy as needed.
• Contribute to planning and evaluating work set for covering lessons and provide feedback to support development planning.

Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 6, Points 7-12 of the Meridian Trust Support pay scale. 35 hours per week. Monday - Friday 08:30-16:00, 39 weeks term time plus training days.
