Randstad Education is currently recruiting for a confident and experienced Cover Supervisor (full-time) to cover in the absence of the class teacher for a Secondary school.

The ideal candidate for this Cover Supervisor is someone who has previous experience supporting / covering Key Stage 3 or 4 classes, is confident and comfortable following a prepared plan including activities for students.

As a Cover Supervisor (full-time), your responsibilities are:
  • Supervision of students while carrying out pre-prepared work and work that has been set in accordance with the school policy
  • To provide instructions for the lesson as provided by the teacher and respond to students' questions regarding processes and procedures
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff in relation to students in lessons covered
  • Encourage students to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all students in activities
  • Displaying and promoting high expectation from all students
  • Support students consistently, recognising and responding to their individual needs
  • Provide feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement
  • Organise and manage appropriate learning environment and resources

Required skills in the Cover Supervisor role, you must have:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is ESSENTIAL (sponsorship is not available with this role)
  • 2 recent relevant references
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to process one through Randstad)
  • Previous experience covering a Key Stage 3 or 4 class room
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom management skills
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and make decisions
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with all stakeholders
