Job Vacancy: Cover Supervisors Wanted

Location: Croydon & Surrounding Boroughs

Salary: £100 - £160 per day (depending on experience and school)

Start Date: October Half Term

Availability: Must be available for same-day call-outs (on-the-day bookings)

Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a school or with young people is desirable
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)
  • Right to work in the UK
About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom when the regular teacher is absent. While you won't be expected to teach new material, you will ensure that students stay on task and follow the lesson plans provided by the teacher.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
  • Delivering pre-set lesson plans and managing classroom activities
  • Maintaining a calm and orderly classroom environment
  • Monitoring student behaviour and ensuring school policies are upheldProviding brief feedback to the regular teacher or senior staff at the end of the day
  • Responding to questions where possible and encouraging student participation

You must be able to confidently deliver and support lessons across a range of subjects, including English and Maths, and be comfortable covering most areas of the curriculum.

This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, teaching assistants looking to step up, or anyone with experience working with young people in an educational setting.
