We are urgently seeking reliable, engaging, and resilient Cover Supervisors to meet the high demand for both flexible day-to-day and secured long-term supply work across our network of Primary and Secondary schools in Blackpool and the wider Fylde Coast area.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an immediate start with roles available from Monday 3rd November. Whether you are an experienced Cover Supervisor, an aspiring teacher, or a graduate seeking classroom experience, we want to hear from you.
The successful candidate will be pivotal in maintaining educational continuity during a teacher's short-term absence. Duties primarily involve supervision of pre-set work.
Classroom Management: Supervise whole classes across a variety of subjects (e.g., Maths, English, Science), ensuring a productive and focused learning environment.
Work Delivery: Clearly communicate the instructions for the pre-set work left by the absent teacher to students.
Behaviour Management: Proactively manage the behaviour of pupils in line with the school's established policy to ensure good order and discipline.
Support & Feedback: Respond to general questions from students about the process and collect completed work at the end of the lesson, providing accurate feedback to the returning teacher.
School Duties: When not providing classroom cover, duties may include providing in-class support, resource preparation, or general administrative tasks.
Essential:
Proven experience working with young people (ages 11-16 is highly advantageous).
Exceptional classroom management skills and a confident, authoritative presence.
Reliability and a genuine commitment to providing consistent support from the November 3rd start date.
The ability to be highly flexible and adaptable to different subjects and year groups.
Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check (or hold a transferable certificate registered with the Update Service).
Experience as a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant (TA).
A degree or equivalent qualification.
Knowledge of specific Lancashire school policies or systems.
