Enjoy teaching work which requires no marking and where you don't need to be qualified to step into the classroom. A great way to gain some experience within schools if you are looking to pursue a career in the education sector. Flexible working based on your needs. Choose to work as little as 1 day a week to as much as 5 days a week.

Prospero teaching are looking for applicants who are looking for school work in the following areas: Brecon, Talgarth, Builth Wells, Llandridnod Wells, Newtown.

What does this work involve?

As a supply cover you will be covering absent teachers in various schools within a secondary setting on a day to day basis. Supply bookings can range from a single day of supply in various schools but can lead to a longer term contract for a full academic year, so can accommodate your personal needs! You will be expected to commute to a school in the morning, once you arrive you will receive cover work which you will be asked to give to your assigned classes, and you will be expected to take a register, manage the behaviour of the class throughout the day, and ensure all the pupils you are assigned to watch over are safe. You will be expected to ensure the class runs smoothly and any disruptive behaviour is effectively managed according to the schools behavioural management policy. You will not be expected to plan any lessons or have prior teaching experience, but prior experience is desirable.

Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • No formal qualifications/experience are required for cover supervision work. Please note desirable qualities will be a resilient personality, good time keeping, confidence managing classes/prior experience working with young people.
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
  • Be willing to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all required vetting checks
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
