Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking Cover Supervisors and highly experienced Teaching Assistants to work across SEN schools in Somerset and the surrounding areas from October 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in education or youth work to step into a lead classroom role—with full training and support provided.

As a Cover Supervisor in SEN settings, you will deliver pre-planned lessons, support SEND/SEMH needs in small groups or 1:1, promote positive behaviour, and

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people in education, care, or youth settings.
• Confidence managing classroom behaviour in a positive, calm way.
• Understanding of SEND and SEMH needs, or willingness to learn.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• Flexible, patient and resilient approach to challenges.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor in an SEN setting, you will:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher
• Support students withSENDandSEMHneeds in small classes or one-to-one

• Work alongside experienced SEN professionals to ensure students feel safe, included, and engaged

These roles are ideal for:

• Experienced Teaching Assistants or Learning Mentors ready to step up
• Graduates exploring a career in teaching or education
• Individuals with youth work or care experience looking to transition into schools

What We're Looking For

• Experience supporting young people ineducation, care, or youth settings

Adegree or Level 3 qualificationis desirable, but not essential if you have relevant experience.
