Overview

The John of Gaunt School is recruiting a Cover Supervisor to play an active role in ensuring the learning and development of all our young people. Working hours are 08:25 – 15:10 with a 35‑minute unpaid lunch break and an additional 1 hour 10 minutes to be worked either before or after the stated times. This vacancy is 32 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the learning of whole classes during the absence of the class teacher and undertake work set by the teacher.
• Deliver mentoring and intervention sessions while supporting the Pastoral and Behaviour Support Centre.
• Manage the behaviour of students to ensure a constructive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Full employment history and accounts for any periods of unemployment.
• Enhanced DBS check before appointment.
• Demonstrate an understanding of and take responsibility for promoting high standards of literacy, articulacy and the correct use of standard English.
• Ability to promote high standards of literacy, articulacy and the correct use of standard English.
