Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Salisbury to recruit a full-time Cover Supervisor for a September 2025 start. This is a long-term position with the strong possibility of a permanent role for the right candidate.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about education and committed to supporting student learning. Whether you're an experienced Cover Supervisor, a recent graduate considering a career in teaching, or someone with relevant experience in youth or educational settings, this role offers a rewarding path forward.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. Working with students aged 11 to 16 across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons in a variety of subjects. Your primary focus will be to ensure that students remain engaged, behave appropriately, and continue their learning in a structured environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising whole classes during short-term teacher absences.

  • Delivering lesson content prepared by the subject teacher across a range of subjects, including core areas like Maths, English, and Science, as well as Humanities and other subjects.

  • Managing classroom behaviour and applying school policies to ensure a calm and productive learning environment.

  • Supporting students with their learning when appropriate and answering questions related to the lesson content.

  • Reporting back to teaching staff regarding student engagement, behaviour, and any notable incidents.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build valuable classroom experience and develop key teaching and behaviour management skills.

  • Mixed secondary school with a strong reputation for inclusivity and academic achievement.

  • Rated 'Good' by Ofsted in its most recent inspection.

  • Strong and supportive senior leadership team with a clear vision for continuous improvement.

  • Encourages professional growth and provides regular CPD opportunities.

The school fosters a positive learning environment where both students and staff are supported to thrive. It is well-known for its collaborative culture and commitment to high standards.

We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds, particularly those with experience working with young people in educational or youth support settings. You do not need to be a qualified teacher to apply.
