Cover Supervisor – SEND School

Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for a rewarding role in a supportive and inclusive SEND school? This welcoming school in Nuneaton is seeking a confident and organised Cover Supervisor to join their team. This is a varied position that combines classroom supervision with administrative responsibility for arranging staff cover each morning. Working from 7:30am to 3:00pm, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth daily operation of the school. You will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of teachers, maintaining a calm learning environment, and supporting pupils with special educational needs to stay engaged in lessons. In addition, you will manage the morning cover arrangements, liaise with supply agencies, and update staff on daily cover plans.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising classes across the school in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Organising and coordinating staff cover each morning.
  • Liaising with supply agencies and maintaining accurate cover records.
  • Using Microsoft Office to manage timetables, emails, and cover documentation.
  • Communicating daily cover plans clearly to staff and leadership.
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, ensuring lessons run smoothly.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor (essential).
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs (desirable).
