A local education institution in Liverpool seeks a passionate Cover Supervisor to manage classroom activities and support young people aged 11-18. The ideal candidate will have experience in education, exceptional communication skills, and a flexible, professional attitude. This permanent role offers family-friendly hours during term time. Commitment to safeguarding and an enhanced DBS check required.
Cover Supervisors are staff who are trained to supervise students carrying out pre-prepared tasks when teaching staff are on short-term absence.
The role is a responsible one which involves taking sole charge of classrooms. The work is set by a qualified teacher and there is no planning or marking involved in this role. Cover Supervisors ensure class work is completed and the student’s behaviour is managed in accordance with the school’s Behaviour for Learning Policy.
Our Cover Supervisors are instrumental in ensuring that we consistently provide the upmost standard of teaching and learning to our students. We have an opportunity to appoint a Cover Supervisor on a permanent basis who is passionate about supporting young people in education.
It is essential that candidates have experience of working with young people between the ages of 11 – 18 and managing challenging behaviour. You should have the ability to establish rapport quickly with young people whilst maintaining a high standard of control and discipline. A flexible, punctual, professional and approachable manner is essential. A degree qualification or a qualification in teaching and learning support would be advantageous.
In return, we can offer family friendly working hours between 8.30 and 3.15 pm each day, term time only working.
