Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Underley Garden School, Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2DZ

Salary: Up to GBP25,000.00 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Cover Supervisor to join our close-knit team at Underley Garden School, part of Options Autism.

About the role

The main objective of the Cover Supervisor is to provide high-quality teaching and learning cover across the school. Responsibilities include leading whole classes, managing challenging behaviours, and ensuring pupils stay focused and meet lesson objectives. This role is crucial for maintaining consistency and continuity of education during teacher absences or other engagements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cover timetabled classes and general absences throughout the week.
2. Deliver high-quality lessons and manage challenging behaviour when necessary.
3. Ensure students are focused and on track to meet lesson objectives.
4. Prepare classrooms for lessons.

Additionally, staff contributions include:

1. Developing, organising, and implementing the school's policies on pupils' personal and social development, including pastoral care.
2. Inducting pupils through baseline assessments.
3. Promoting good conduct, discipline, respect for authority, and encouraging positive behaviour.
