Cover Supervisor - Harrow - Part Time - November Start

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cover Supervisor to join a supportive and inclusive secondary alternative provision school based in Harrow, conveniently located just a short 3-minute walk from the nearest station.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the continuity of learning for students in the absence of their usual teachers. The role requires someone who can build strong relationships with young people, maintain engagement in lessons, and manage classroom behaviour effectively.

This position is ideally suited to someone with previous teaching or tutoring experience and a solid understanding of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum, particularly GCSE-level content. As this is an alternative provision setting, the successful candidate will also need to demonstrate resilience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach when supporting students who may present with challenging behaviours or additional needs.

Cover Supervisor Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and supervise students in the absence of teaching staff.
  • Support students in completing their work and maintaining focus during lessons.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and motivation.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour.

Cover Supervisor Requirements
