A local academy in the United Kingdom is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support various subject areas by covering lessons and assisting in student development. The ideal candidate will have strong personal qualities and good ICT skills, with the role offering training and opportunities for career progression. The position is part-time over three days a week with an emphasis on staff wellbeing and professional development.

We are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor who wants to join an experienced, supportive, committed team of like-minded colleagues and make a real difference with our young people. The post entails covering lessons when teachers are absent and assisting with the development of learning resources for such lessons. The role is busy and varied, you will work across many different subject areas within our academy. The role also provides support and cover within our behaviour team and involves working with groups of students to improve their attitude to learning. A background in coaching, sports or other practical disciplines would be advantageous.
The team is well-established and highly supportive of one another. Led by a Cover Manager and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the cover team works collaboratively, always putting the needs of our students at the forefront of what we do. The cover team supports a range of extra-curricular activities each day, engaging positively with students and other colleagues from various faculties. We would love to show you round our academy.
Training will be provided along with an induction to support your transition into the role. Strong personal qualities such as confidence, integrity and presence are sought in addition to good functional ICT skills. Consistent and effective communication are required together with the ability to use your own initiative. We would welcome applications from recently graduated university students.
Hours of work: 8.00am to 4.00pm, 3 days per week. Current academic year: Monday, Thursday and Friday. These days are subject to change annually as per the needs of the school timetable.
