Job summary

An educational institution in Birmingham is looking for a committed Cover Supervisor to supervise students during teacher absences. About the Role

As part of our commitment to helping students achieve the best possible results, we are looking for a committed, hard‑working and enthusiastic individual to be part of an existing team of Cover Supervisors.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise students during periods of short‑term teacher absence, ensuring they are on task and complete the work set.
  • Take sole charge of groups of children to deliver lessons set by the teacher.
  • Manage classroom behaviour to create a constructive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching staff across a wide range of subject areas and the curriculum.
  • Act as a Form Tutor or attached member of a Pastoral team, liaising with teaching staff to discuss work set during staff absence, organising the return of completed work, and supporting attached Faculties and departments.
Qualifications

• Experience working in a Secondary School.

• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.

• Confidence and assertiveness with strong behaviour management skills.

• ICT competence.

• GCSE grade C/4 or above in Maths and English.
