Owen Reed is assisting in the recruitment of a Court Clerk for an exciting new Channel 4 documentary series, The Court (working title). This unique opportunity involves being part of a televised alternative dispute resolution process, where real cases are heard and resolved by independent arbitrators — offering viewers a rare insight into modern civil justice.

As Court Clerk, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of arbitration hearings, working closely with experienced barristers, arbitrators, and members of the public participating in the process. You’ll be a key part of the on-screen team, ensuring the proceedings are professional, organised, and handled with integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Announce the day’s cases and coordinate the courtroom schedule.
  • Usher claimants, respondents, witnesses, and legal representatives into the courtroom.
  • Manage and distribute case paperwork and evidence between parties.
  • Assist with the presentation of physical and digital evidence, including diagrams, photos, and AV materials.
  • Hand the oath to witnesses and ensure courtroom protocol is observed.
  • Support the arbitrators and barristers with logistical and administrative tasks throughout the hearing.
  • Liaise with participants and production staff to maintain order and clarity during filming.
  • Participate on camera throughout the series as part of the courtroom process.
