  • Collaborate with Programme Director and Postgraduate Studies team.

What you’ll do

As Course Tutor, you will play a key role in delivering the Pg Dip in Child and Young People’s Psychological Trainings, combining your clinical expertise with teaching, assessment and trainee support to help practitioners develop their skills in evidence‑based work with children, young people and families.

  • You will contribute to the planning and delivery of a high‑quality curriculum, including teaching sessions, workshops and tutor groups
  • You will coordinate assessment, marking and feedback processes, helping to maintain consistent academic standards across the programme
  • You will support trainees throughout their learning, responding to queries and helping those who need additional support to integrate their training into workplace practice
  • You will gather and respond to trainee feedback, working with colleagues to continually improve module content, teaching and the overall trainee experience
  • You will work collaboratively with the Programme Director, Deputy Programme Director, modality leads and wider Postgraduate Studies team to support the effective delivery and ongoing development of the programme
What you’ll bring

The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical experience working with children, young people and families, alongside experience of teaching or delivering clinical training, and will be committed to creating a high‑quality, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

  • You will have a recognised qualification in a core mental health profession, alongside significant clinical experience working collaboratively with children, young people, parents/carers and families
  • You will have knowledge and experience of delivering clinical training courses and/or university teaching, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You will hold BABCP accreditation and be able to bring your clinical knowledge and expertise into a postgraduate teaching environment
  • You will be able to work flexibly and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary setting, effectively managing workloads, competing priorities and deadlines
  • You will be able to support fair and accurate assessment while demonstrating cultural self‑awareness and a commitment to high‑quality, inclusive teaching and learning
Key details

Hours: Part‑time (7 hours per week): Mondays or Tuesdays. Some flexible working is possible.

Salary: £53,560 - FTE per annum, plus 6% contributory pension scheme

Location: Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working): staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). Flexibility will be required to attend in‑person teaching days during term time (Tuesdays).

Contract type: Fixed term until December 2027
