Job summary

A prestigious golf and country club in Hitchin is seeking an experienced Course Manager to ensure the upkeep of the golf course and its facilities. The successful candidate will lead a team of Greenkeepers, manage relationships with contractors, and maintain the highest standards of our golf assets. Qualifications

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a golf course or club setting is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage a team.
  • Proficiency in turf maintenance and care techniques.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Course Manager to join our team and ensure the upkeep of the golf course and its facilities, including the Clubhouse grounds, landscaping and all associated equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining the Club's golf assets to the highest standards, ensuring safety and security at all times.

In this role, you will lead a team of Greenkeepers, oversee the maintenance and development of the golf course and manage relationships with external contractors. You will also ensure that all aspects of the course, from turf care to irrigation, are in optimal condition. Additionally, you will work closely with the Club General Manager to manage budgets, develop training plans and implement safety policies.

Experience & Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, horticulture or plant science desirable; or
  • Previous supervisory experience in a club or golf course setting.
  • Min. Level 3 in Greenkeeping or Horticulture or Agronomy.
Schedule
  • We operate a 7-days a week business, between 0600 to 2300
  • Shift patterns will vary as per business requirements and encompass all opening hours - weekends and bank holidays
