Job Title

Fashion and Textiles Course Leader (Fixed term contract for 1 year)

About The Role
  • Plan and deliver structured, engaging, and challenging teaching sessions across Fashion and Textiles pathways.
  • Support learners to improve their literacy, numeracy, and digital skills.
  • Lead course planning and delivery to help students identify and achieve progression goals.
  • Monitor learner progress through target setting, feedback, and effective support.
  • Collaborate with academic, technical, and support teams to maintain high standards and student engagement.
  • Contribute to recruitment activities, including student interviewing and open events.
  • Build industry contacts to enhance vocational learning and opportunities.
  • Ensure learners are prepared for progression with tailored advice and portfolio guidance.
Essential Qualifications
  • Degree or professional qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics (GCSE grade 4/C or above or equivalent).
  • Level 5 Teaching Qualification (or equivalent).
Desirable Qualifications
  • Further qualifications in digital editing or related creative disciplines.
Essential Experience
  • Proven experience delivering successful Level 3 Fashion and Textiles programmes.
  • Knowledge of both analogue and digital fashion and textile processes.
  • Industry or commercial experience within the Fashion and Textiles sectors.
  • Strong teaching skills with an understanding of art and design pedagogy.
  • Experience in monitoring learner progress and supporting progression.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience as a Course Leader in Further Education.
  • Experience teaching Adobe CC programmes such as Lightroom and Photoshop.
  • Delivery of UAL Awarding Body Art & Design qualifications.
