Job summary

Leeds City College is seeking a Course Leader in Digital and IT (including Computer Science) to drive delivery of Level 3 BTEC programmes, primarily for 16–18 learners, based at Printworks campus. You will plan, track and assess progress, oversee quality and lead curriculum development with the Digital Technologies team.

You will foster strong student engagement, maintain restorative relationships, manage course reviews and coordinate curriculum meetings to ensure consistency and high standards

Qualifications

  • Experience in Further Education delivery at Levels 2 and 3.
  • Familiarity with BTEC Level 3/Foundations Diploma delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and manage BTEC Level 3 courses, focusing on Foundation Diploma for 16–18 learners.
  • Lead on quality, course reviews, and progress tracking throughout the year.
  • Create engaging, industry-relevant resources for digital and IT courses.

About The Role

Leeds City College are recruiting for a Course Leader in Digital and IT (including Computer Science) to join our team. We are looking for a committed, passionate educator to work within our team of highly skilled teachers and support staff.

Based at our historic Printworks campus, the School of Digital Technologies offers a variety of courses to over 400 students, ranging from Level 1 to Level 3 Access to HE courses, alongside a suite of T level qualifications.

What You Will Do
  • Deliver and manage BTEC courses at Level 3, with a particular focus on Foundation Diploma delivered to full time learners, mainly aged 16-18. You will be responsible for planning, tracking and assessment throughout the year.
  • You will work with the Digital and IT team to facilitate relevant lesson delivery which will mirror the ever-changing nature of the business world.
  • You will be responsible for the creation and upkeep of course review documents throughout the year.
  • You will lead on all quality aspects of course delivery and reporting.
  • You will support, guide and assist our learners throughout their academic journey by helping to create exciting and relevant industry-standard resources that can aid in the delivery of the business courses within our school.
  • You will manage curriculum team meetings to ensure standardisation, schemes of learning, learner profile and student progress and tracking are as expected for each unit of the course and report to your line manager.
About You
  • You will have experience in a Further Education setting specialising in delivery at levels 2 and 3, and be able to demonstrate a passion for new and innovative ideas around curriculum development.
  • You will have current Digital and IT teaching experience and be looking for your next step into course leadership.
  • Your experience will include positively managing students to ensure excellent retention, achievement, success and attendance with our cohort of learners.
  • You will build positive relationships with students and staff using restorative practice techniques, be flexible and a positive role model across our campus.
  • Your skill‑set will also include excellent organisation skills and the ability to provide productive insight into the development of the courses.
