Shropshire Council is seeking a Countryside Maintenance Officer to join the Outdoor Partnerships Team. You will be part of the Service’s Maintenance Team delivering grounds maintenance and Rights of Way work across Shropshire.

An opportunity has arisen to become part of the Countryside Maintenance Team, within the Outdoor Partnerships Team. You will work as part of the Service’s Maintenance Team to deliver activities mainly focused on grounds maintenance, but also maintaining Public Rights of Way and other related tasks across Shropshire.
You may also work with the team to deliver habitat management and access improvements to our council owned countryside sites. This is part of the service’s contracting role to create income into the service where we deliver groundworks, path improvements, fencing and many other tasks to other departments or organisations. The post is focused on seasonal grounds maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, line marking, hedge maintenance and general site management. Annualised hours are used to focus this work within the growing season with reduced hours in the closed season.
If you have good practical countryside skills, focused on grounds maintenance and grass cutting machinery; and have the passion to help manage Shropshire Council’s varied network of rights of way and greenspace, we want to hear from you.
