Are you ready to be at the forefront of risk management and compliance at JPMorgan Chase? As part of our Counterparty Risk team, you will play a crucial role in identifying, measuring, and analyzing counterparty credit risk matters related to our market activities. This London-based Associate role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to regulatory exams, stress testing, and risk management across EMEA and other regions, working with key stakeholders and regulators globally.

As a Counterparty Risk Associate in the Counterparty Risk team, you will support the team’s mandate across CCR risk management, regulatory exams, ICAAP, and regulatory CCR stress testing. You will build and maintain CRR risk monitoring frameworks, contribute to regulatory examinations, and support counterparty risk stress testing exercises. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders such as CROs, risk teams, Credit Officers, and Technology partners. We seek candidates with a strong background in Counterparty or Market Risk, who are excited to join our organization and contribute to our best-in-class risk management culture.

Job responsibilities
  • Build and maintain CRR risk monitoring frameworks tailored to local legal entity needs.
  • Monitor baseline CCR risk and capital concentrations, trends, stress behavior, and impacts on limits/risk appetite.
  • Contribute to regulatory examinations and interactions, preparing analysis and responses to regulators.
  • Support ICAAP processes, including CCR capital stress testing and stress scenario design.
  • Complete counterparty risk stress testing exercises mandated by regulators.
  • Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Relevant experience in Counterparty Risk or Market Risk at a top-tier investment bank.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, or Economics.
  • Experience in building and maintaining risk measurement and monitoring frameworks.
  • Good understanding of derivatives, Futures and Options, Margin Lending, and Securities Financing products.
  • Understanding of quantitative concepts relating to CCR exposures, PFE, risk sensitivity, and stress testing.
  • Experience in analyzing regulatory rules and conducting compliance assessments.
  • Ability to communicate analysis results clearly and succinctly to stakeholders.
  • Experience working in SLA-driven environments with the ability to manage dependencies.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Experience interacting with regulators or working on regulatory submissions.
  • Knowledge of capital rules for CCR (IMM and SA-CCR) preferred.
  • Programming skills in Python (NumPy library) and visualization skills (Tableau) are advantageous.
  • Experience in ICAAP, Capital Management, or Regulatory Capital reporting strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Credit Risk, Trading, or Trading Middle Office functions.
  • Master’s degree, CFA, CQF, or FRM designations.
