Job summary

Howdens Joinery is recruiting for a Trade Counter Salesperson to be the first point of contact for trade customers in Harrogate. You will build relationships, understand customer needs, and turn conversations into sales, managing your own account base and new business opportunities.

You’ll develop product knowledge quickly, offer practical advice, and play a direct role in driving sales and hitting targets within a busy depot team. A rewarding role with strong team culture and incentives.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sales, retail or customer service environment.
• Motivated by driving sales and delivering excellent customer service.
• Able to adapt quickly and manage a varied, fast paced workload.
• Confident and friendly communicator who builds strong customer relationships.
• Team player who contributes to the depot's performance.

Responsibilities

• Delivering great customer service and handling enquiries with confidence and professionalism.
• Achieving and exceeding individual targets while supporting depot performance.
• Selling the full range of products and services face to face and over the phone.
• Generating and following up on leads to drive sales.
• Processing orders, providing pricing and quotations, and managing delivery expectations.
• Supporting the warehouse when needed to keep the depot running smoothly.
• Maintaining a safe and compliant environment in line with health and safety standards.
