Overview of the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an early‑career lawyer to gain hands‑on experience supporting a high‑growth, global organization. The Counsel, Contracts & Compliance will assist in managing the legal affairs of IP House across jurisdictions, with a focus on commercial contracts, legal compliance, and internal governance. The role will work cross‑functionally with Client Success, Client Solutions, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure operational integrity and mitigate legal risk.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Commercial Contracts
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including client MSAs, vendor agreements, NDAs, and licensing/procurement deals.
  • Assist in contract lifecycle management, including tracking key terms, obligations, and renewals.
  • Support the proposal and RFP process with timely input on contractual and risk‑related matters.
Compliance & Legal Risk
  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of internal policies on data privacy, anti‑bribery, competition, and third‑party risk.
  • Conduct periodic audits and reviews to support compliance with global standards (GDPR, CCPA, UK Bribery Act, FCPA, etc.).
  • Manage and refine internal training materials and compliance documentation.
Legal Operations & Governance
  • Conduct legal research and provide support on ad hoc matters, including corporate filings and IP issues.
  • Liaise with external counsel in the U.S., U.K., and other jurisdictions on compliance and contract‑related issues.
  • Maintain and organize legal templates and knowledge‑management tools.
What You’ll Bring
  • UK LLB with completion of solicitor qualification
  • 2+ years of post‑qualification experience in a law firm or in‑house environment
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, particularly in commercial agreements
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance topics such as data privacy, anti‑bribery, or competition
  • Experience in legal research, project coordination, and cross‑functional collaboration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Commercially savvy with a risk‑aware mindset
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
