Job summary

Irwin Mitchell LLP is recruiting a Costs Draftsman to support the Public Law & Human Rights team. You will prepare Bills of Costs for Detailed and Provisional Assessment and oversee litigation through the Court process.

You will interact with clients, provide clear advice, and take instructions throughout each case. The role focuses on Court of Protection Welfare, Public Law and Human Rights matters with potential involvement in training junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing Bills of Costs for Detailed/Provisional Assessment.
• Ability to draft bills and manage Court-based litigation workflow.
• Familiarity with IT systems and time recording procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Bills of Costs for Detailed/Provisional Assessment and litigation through Court.
• Assist with advocacy at Court when required and as agreed with Costs Partner.
• Interact with clients, providing advice and taking instructions throughout the case.
• Support Public Law & Human Rights team on Court of Protection Welfare, Public Law and Human Rights matters.
