Fletchers Solicitors seeks an experienced Drafting Team Leader to head the Costs Department. Reporting to the Head of Costs Litigation, you will oversee daily team operations and ensure first-class costs drafting services across the firm.

You will combine technical expertise in costs drafting with proven leadership, driving performance, quality and profitability while maintaining exceptional client care in a collaborative, flexible hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Costs lawyer or solicitor qualification is required.
• Proven experience in drafting bills of costs.
• Experience managing a costs team and delivering high quality drafting work.
• Excellent organisational, planning and communication abilities.
• Strong client service focus and ability to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Drafting Team to achieve objectives and maintain high performance.
• Allocate cases within the team and monitor workloads.
• Ensure accurate management information and timely reporting.
• Liaise with fee earners on questions or queries.
• Conduct annual PDMRs and monthly 1:1s.
• Manage chargeability and budgets; maximise profitability while maintaining client care.
• Mentor and develop team members to close knowledge gaps.
