Job summary

Turner & Townsend is a global management consultancy delivering cost and project management solutions for real estate and infrastructure. We seek an experienced Senior Cost Manager to lead cost management across hotels, residential, and commercial office schemes.

You will collaborate with clients and stakeholders, manage tendering, post-contract reporting, and value engineering while promoting accountability and performance within project teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying required.
• MRICS credential or working towards it.
• UK Cost Management experience in Real Estate/Property.
• Experience on large projects.
• Experience on new build and fit-out projects.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Support feasibility studies and procurement reports.
• Prepare cost estimates and final cost plans with presentation.
• Manage tendering activities, including pre-qualification processes and tender analysis.
• Manage post-contract cost variations and change control processes.
• Conduct cost checks and valuations for accuracy.
• Produce and present monthly post-contract cost reports.
• Contribute to value engineering and opportunities for growth.
• Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and consultants.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Lead cost management teams and drive high performance.
• Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships.
• Assist with bid documentation preparation.
• Improve cost management procedures and templates.
• Capture lessons learned in internal knowledge systems.
• Monitor financial performance using FMS.
• Identify and implement process improvements.

Job Description

Turner & Townsend is a leading management consultancy provider in the Commercial Developer sector. Role Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of feasibility studies and procurement reports.
• Prepare cost estimates and cost plans, including presentation of final cost plans.
• Manage tendering activities, including pre-qualification processes, tender lists, preliminaries, tender analysis, and reporting.
• Manage post-contract cost variations and change control processes.
• Conduct cost checks and valuations, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Produce and present monthly post-contract cost reports.
• Contribute to value engineering exercises.
• Negotiate and agree final accounts.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout all project stages.
• Lead cost management teams, promoting accountability and high performance.
• Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and support business growth.
• Assist with the preparation of bid documentation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost management procedures, templates, and service offerings.
• Ensure key project information and lessons learned are captured within internal knowledge management systems.
• Monitor financial performance using FMS.
• Identify and elevate opportunities for process improvement.
• Review commission management quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
• MRICS qualified or working towards
• UK Cost Management experience within the Real Estate/Property sector
• Experience working on larger projects
• Experience working on new build and fit-out projects
• Excellent communication skills and client facing.
