A leading engineering recruitment agency in Basingstoke is seeking an experienced Cost Manager for their Energy business unit. In this role, you will be responsible for generating and reporting on revenue and costs, managing journals, and ensuring compliance with financial controls. Previous experience in cost management or a relevant degree is preferred. Strong communication, attention to detail, and advanced Excel skills are essential. A full driving license is required due to occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Advanced user of Excel with experience in formulas and pivot tables.

Responsibilities

  • Generating and reporting weekly revenue and cost reports.
  • Managing journals and providing cost detail to commercial team.
  • Analysis of weekly and monthly cost and revenue data.
  • Full control of the cost and invoicing process.
  • Work with the commercial team to understand costs.
  • Ensuring compliance with WBS structure.
  • Introduce controls for compliance.
  • Monthly reporting.
  • Oversee financial and cost output of the team.
  • Manage a Cost Analyst and Cost Administrator.

Here are a few of the activities that you'll get involved in:
  • Generating and reporting weekly revenue and cost reports
  • Managing journals and providing cost detail to commercial team
  • Analysis of weekly and monthly cost and revenue data
  • Full control of the cost and invoicing process
  • Work with the commercial team to understand costs and answer any queries
  • Ensuring compliance with WBS structure
  • Ensure compliance by introducing controls
  • Monthly reporting
  • Oversee the financial and cost output of the team
  • Responsible for managing a Cost Analyst and Cost Administrator
We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to interpret data are all essential, as is being numerate and an advanced user of Excel (formulas, pivot tables and VLOOKUP's).

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred or recently qualified with, with a business, accountancy or quantity surveying degree.

This role will involve travel on occasion to different offices, so a full driving license is required.
