Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom is seeking a cost controller to oversee budgets, forecasts and cost reporting for major projects. The role requires strong knowledge of cost control, budgeting, forecasting and change processes, with experience in cost engineering or project controls in infrastructure, energy or nuclear contexts.

You will work with planners, commercial teams and work package managers to ensure data accuracy, run variance analyses, and support ongoing cost system improvements using

Qualifications

Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and change processes.
High proficiency in cost reporting and variance analysis with Excel/Power Query or similar.
Detail-oriented and accountable approach to your work.
Ability to build relationships and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience in cost engineering or project controls, ideally in infrastructure, energy or nuclear.
Familiarity with tools such as SAP, EcoSys or Primavera.
Progress toward a recognised professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, APM, CICES, PMI).
Advanced proficiency in cost data management and analysis tools.
Training in cost control, estimating or forecasting (desirable).
Exposure to NEC/FIDIC contracts (desirable).
Experience with change control and performance reporting (desirable).
