About the role
We are seeking a Cost Controller to join our Project Controls team to provide support to the Cost Engineering team for Genesis Energies projects. This role requires administrative assistance and coordination for estimating, reporting and invoicing across project life cycles.
Role responsibilities
- Administration and maintenance support for projects from proposal to closeout; setup, reporting and invoicing
- Administration and maintenance of Cost Control systems (EPR, MDM, etc.)
- Preparing price sheets and estimating support
- Assisting with the analysis of project costs and revenue, preparing financial reports, and conducting reconciliations
- Helping to forecast project revenue, costs, and cash flow
- Supporting project managers in managing project budgets and adherence to financial plans
- Providing administrative support, assisting with project closeout reports, and helping with the preparation of project reviews
- Supporting invoicing and billing
Main duties
Price sheets
- Creation of price sheets for proposals
- Analysis of the price sheets
- Input into estimations
Cost Control
- Preparation of invoices and supporting documentation
- Preparation of cost reports for small projects/studies, including forecast and cash flow analysis
- Preparation and input in PMRs
- Preparation of reporting KPIs
Cost Control / Administrative support
- Maintaining and updating Cost Control outputs including reports, registers and system data
- Maintaining EPR/MDM and other cost/project control systems
- Preparation of Cost Control KPI data
- Assistance in preparation of weekly and monthly internal and external reporting for larger projects
- Assistance in invoicing for projects
Typical background and experience required
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic understanding of project dynamics and lifecycle
- Good team working skills
- Basic understanding of all elements of Cost & project Controls
- Ability to work to fixed deadlines
- Self‑motivated, with good analytical skills and ability to work under own initiative on day‑to‑day activities
- Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of scheduling, planning, reporting and cost principles and their application to projects
