The Opportunity

We are looking for a Cost Control Accountant who loves numbers, hates waste, and gets satisfaction from spotting savings others might miss. You will help guide how we spend, making sure every pound has purpose and every cost has value.

You will keep us financially sharp by reviewing spend, managing approvals, and championing smarter ways of working. If you enjoy turning data into insight and working with teams to make good financial decisions, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Keep an accurate and up-to-date register of all subscriptions and recurring spend.
  • Dig into spending patterns to uncover cost drivers, usage trends and opportunities to streamline.
  • Support month-end close with accurate accounting of accruals, prepayments and capital expenditure.
  • Own the PO approval process, ensuring everyone knows the rules and follows them.
  • Partner with budget holders to keep committed costs on track, challenge spend where needed and align with business priorities.
  • Work closely with stock, logistics, IT, operations and more to ensure spend is approved, allocated and controlled correctly.
  • Prepare journals and schedules relating to Group-wide expenditure for management accounts.
  • Add value by creating meaningful commentary to help executives make confident decisions.
  • Always be on the lookout for smarter, faster and better ways to analyse and report costs.
