County Administrative Assistant – Cooperative Extension

Key Responsibilities
- Provide office support and leadership to the Extension staff and other program areas including Agriculture, Natural Resources, 4‑H and Family and Consumer Science.
- Assist the County Extension Director to develop and effectively manage the county budget and ongoing financial procedures.
- Submit volunteer background checks and maintain appropriate records.
- Work with electronic travel, leave, and reporting systems.
- Perform office support duties of file management, purchasing and maintaining office supplies, reviewing/screening mail, and processing outgoing mail (including mass mailings).
- Provide customer service to call‑in and walk‑in clientele.
- Market Extension programs and successes through creation of reports, updating the website, social media and other communication outlets.
- Create educational materials and newsletters.
- Assist agents in creating program announcements and other event promotion materials.

Qualifications
- High school graduation and two years of related experience; or a two‑year secretarial science or business administration program and one year related experience.
- Strong knowledge of computer applications including Word, Excel, Google Suite, and willingness to learn new software.
- Highly motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi‑task.
- Dependable, prompt, and efficient in roles and responsibilities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of confidentiality, especially regarding HR issues.
- Effective time‑management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, personal transportation.
