A local government organization in the UK is looking for a part-time Cosmetic Treatments Compliance Officer to lead the enforcement of cosmetic treatment regulations and ensure responsible service provision. Cosmetic Treatments Compliance Officer (Part-Time, 4 Days per Week)
Location: Kent County Council, Trading Standards
Contract: Part-time (0.8 FTE, 4 days per week)
Salary: KSD Grade (pro rata)
Funding: Public Health Grant
Are you ready to make a difference in an emerging and fast-changing market? Kent County Council Trading Standards is seeking a proactive and committed individual to join us as a Cosmetic Treatments Compliance Officer. This is a brand‑new, part‑time post funded by Public Health, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of cosmetic procedure regulation in Kent.
You will lead on enforcing the Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021 and other relevant legislation, focusing on the growing market for cosmetic treatments such as botox, fillers, and other novel procedures. Working closely with partner agencies—including Public Health, local councils, and professional bodies—you’ll help ensure responsible service provision, protect young people, and promote best practice across the county.
You’ll have experience working independently, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of compliance or regulatory environments. You’ll be comfortable using IT systems and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. Knowledge of age‑restricted products or Trading Standards work is desirable.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer‑facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
