Job summary

Commonwealth Of Virginia’s Buckingham Correctional Center is hiring Corrections Officers to help ensure the safety of staff, inmates, and the public. Officers supervise daily inmate activities, maintain secure confinement, and follow policy and procedure with evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Ability to lawfully possess a firearm.
• Must be at least 21 (waiver possible for 18-20).

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily inmate activities and monitor behavior to ensure safety.
• Maintain secure confinement and enforce policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to address inmate needs.
