A leading law firm in Sheffield is seeking a Legal Assistant for a 9-month programme, providing support to lawyers and gaining valuable experience. The position focuses on administrative and legal tasks within a corporate setting, requiring excellent organization, communication skills, and a team-oriented attitude. Our award winning Sheffield corporate team is highly regarded for the deals on which it advises. The team typically work on a variety of acquisitions, disposals, management buy-outs and fund-raises. Our Sheffield Corporate Legal Assistant Programme allows you to gain grass roots experience of working in a busy corporate team alongside our talented lawyers. You will work in a collegiate and supportive environment and learn from other members of the team at all levels from Trainee to Partner. Legal Assistant positions are initially for 9 months. We review performance at 3 monthly intervals. At the 9-month stage we make a decision on whether to offer funding for the Solicitor Qualifying Examinations (SQE).
With this role, if we do offer funding for the SQE, you will undertake 2 of your 4 6 month training contract seats with the Sheffield corporate team, with the other seats undertaken in practice areas which are complimentary to corporate work, designed to equip you for a career as a corporate solicitor upon qualification.

To provide a combination of administrative and legal support to Trainees, Lawyers, and Partners, which will involve assisting on transactions, undertaking due diligence, making filings at Companies House, dealing with post-completion matters, drafting documents, undertaking legal research and attending meetings/calls with clients.
To carry out any other such reasonable tasks that may be required from time to time.
