Job summary

Affinia, the UK’s leading purpose-led Accountancy firm, is seeking a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager in Nottingham. The role focuses on compliance with opportunities to contribute to advisory projects within a mixed role.

You will manage client portfolios, mentor juniors, review work, and deliver all aspects of corporate tax compliance while developing tax planning skills. The role offers hybrid working with three days in the office and two at home.

Qualifications

• CTA qualified is essential.
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience.
• Good understanding of accounts and financial processes.
• Strong IT skills and working knowledge of accounting software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members.
• Review work produced by juniors and provide feedback.
• Support personal development and mentor juniors.
• Deliver comprehensive corporate tax compliance for clients.
• Review computations prepared by the AS/BA team.
• Handle ad hoc client inquiries and internal requests.
• Manage billing, WIP, and own workflow to deadlines.
• Conduct technical research for discussions with colleagues and clients.
• Liaise with HMRC regarding client liabilities and responses to inquiries.
• Provide support to Partners and Managers for client meetings.
• Participate in corporate tax planning work.
