Lusona is working with a leading UK professional services firm looking to appoint a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager to its growing Private Capital team in Scotland.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond simply delivering compliance. You’ll manage your own portfolio of high-quality clients, build direct relationships with them and identify the advisory opportunities that naturally arise from understanding their businesses.
The client base is a major attraction. You’ll work with a broad mix of owner-managed businesses, private equity-backed companies and larger corporate groups, covering corporation tax compliance alongside specialist claims, tax accounting and advisory projects, including financing and transactions.
You’ll take responsibility for managing your own portfolio, becoming a key point of contact for clients and working closely with Partners and Directors. You’ll also review work prepared by junior colleagues and support their ongoing development.
Importantly, this isn’t a role where you’ll be pigeonholed into compliance. Your portfolio gives you the platform to spot issues and opportunities and become involved in the advisory work that spins out of those relationships.
There is also a strong commercial element to the position. As you develop, you’ll have opportunities to build your network, contribute to business development and become involved in pitches and proposals.
The combination of client quality, autonomy and progression makes this particularly attractive. You’ll benefit from:
You’ll already have experience within UK Corporate Tax, ideally gained within an accountancy or professional services firm, and be ready to take greater ownership of client relationships and your career.
You are likely to be CA, ATT and/or CTA qualified, with experience managing corporate tax compliance work. Experience reviewing junior colleagues’ work, tax accounting/audit of tax or broader advisory work would be advantageous.
You certainly don’t need to arrive as the finished article. What matters is that you have a solid corporate tax grounding, are commercially minded and want to develop into a more rounded adviser. Study support provided for those looking to either complete exams or commence study towards CTA.
