Job Description

WRAP is a global environmental action NGO championing the shift towards a circular economy, fundamentally reshaping how we produce, consume and manage resources.

WRAP is driving Circular Living through four key areas: accelerating the circular economy, future‑proofing food, preventing problem packaging and transforming textiles. We catalyse action from policy makers, businesses, NGOs and citizens to make it happen. We have offices in the UK, USA and Australia, and live projects in over 30 countries.

The Role

As our Chief Programmes Officer (CPO), you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering WRAP’s global programme portfolio. Sitting on the Executive Team and reporting directly to the CEO, you will provide strategic direction across all programme areas and geographies – from resource management and circular economy initiatives to food system transformation, packaging and textiles.

As Chief Programmes Officer, you’ll lead the team to deliver impact, delight our partners and funders, and ensure that our programmes are rooted in a deep understanding of commercial, economic and social drivers, as well as the very best environmental evidence.

Key focus areas include managing WRAP’s dual delivery model to ensure the quality, consistency and impact of both our direct delivery work and the programmes we deliver through strategic partners. This is a highly influential role with the opportunity to shape WRAP’s long‑term strategy, strengthen international programmes and drive real, measurable environmental and societal outcomes at scale.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic direction across all programme areas and geographies.
  • Lead and manage programme delivery teams.
  • Ensure high quality, consistency and impact of direct delivery and partner programmes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, funders and stakeholders.
  • Translate commercial, economic and social drivers into programme design.
  • Shape WRAP’s long‑term strategy and influence policy and practice.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Expertise in at least one core WRAP programme area (food systems, packaging, textiles/fashion, behaviour change or resource management with NetZero focus).
  • Excellent communication, partnership‑building and convening skills.
  • Credibility across diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work remotely or from home.

Important information:

  • Remote working/work at home options are available for this role.
  • Flexible core hours.
